I don't usually comment.. but when I do, it means the program was great!
Seriously, the Power Menu feels so futuristic. It gives you a big menu and makes background transparent. It looks awesome.
Thanks GOTD.

Got it on the rerun. But I will continue to use my icons on desktop system.
Remember to disable auto-run with Windows Login, if you do not want that.
Also untick Lock in the Options so that you do not accidentally lock your PC when you click on icon or press F4.

wow, after all this checking, everyday, wondering what was going on, i wondered if this was all worth it. i'm so glad i ran into the message that the app was finally available. it installed easily, and i've looked it over and watched the video. i haven't done a full scale test but i'm glad i persisted in watching for this because it seems to have great potential. i can see that it shows me things in a nicely organized way. i will be using the start menu more than i did before because of this tool.

Installed on Win 7 Netbook. Works okay except the menu items on the left are not static as I'm used to on a regular start menu. So when I see the link I want in programs, I proceed to move my mouse to that link and it invariably rolls over some other item (like documents or pictures) and my link is gone with the wind. I have to get back to programs and start again. Gets to be frustrating. It could be that the netbook screen being only 10.1 inches is so small that any mouse movement (not trackpad) causes the mouse to move all over the place anyways. So to fix this I created tabs and just click on the tab I want keeping my mouse on that side of the screen. It works.
Also tried on Win 8.1. For some reason the Windows key was not functional in any way on my Logitech Bluetooth keyboard. Tried different settings in the options, but nothing would work. It's not a problem though as I rarely use that key unless a game hangs up and I need to get to the desktop. Maybe it only works with connected keyboards?
All in all it seems to be a good start menu with some nice personalization options. Just a bit of a learning curve.
Will keep on my netbook.

Combines the most useful features of start menu and file manager - a big productivity booster. Downloaded and installed without a hitch (32-bit Win 7 Home Premium, SP1,) Now that I have it, I wonder how I got along without it. It really does make access to everything on your computer quicker and easier. Thanks, GOTD.

What about this is any better/different than the free Classic Start Menu?

I got a new Win 8.1 computer last week and the first thing I did, after downloading my favorite browser, was to google, download, and install "Classic Start Menu." I've used it for over a year and it suits my needs.

Love Start Menu X! I had spent a lot of time reorganizing my Win7 menu, but this made it so much easier, and also gathers those installs that didn't ask me where I wanted to put their menu link. It is even better for a Win 8.x machine. Anyone with Win8.x knows how cumbersome it is to use it. This Start Menu X takes care of all those problems for those of us who do not like the tablet look that Win 8.x has by default.
I suggest you get Start Menu X, even if only to take a look at what it will do for you. You decide. And consider buying it too, as there is support for you with a paid version and you support the efforts of the developer.

Thanks GAOTD and OrdinarySoft!

Awesome application! The one program MS forgot to put in W8. Installed without problem (this time) on a W8 64 Lenovo Thinkpad. This is just one of Giveawayoftheday.com's gems and thanks for getting it right!

I installed this when on offer last week or so, so impressed I bought it at the special GOTD price, £4.80, a bargain, and now I will get future updates. (I have the angry bird start button which my grandchildren think is great).

Switching between Menu X and the original start is easily done by holding the shift key while clicking on the start button, (switches back and forth), which is what I do whilst I get used to menu X and slowly configure how I want it.

Very pleased, and thank you GOTD team.

Been a pro user for a very long time now, and works well. Currently using on Win 10 Tech 64 bit with no issues.

This was one of the first things I put on my wife's Win 8 machine.

Does exactly what it claims straight out of the box.

Installed on Win7 with Norton Security (the new version of Norton Internet security) with no need for it to be disabled.

Norton Security is not offered as an update to older versions, but if you download the trial version and install it over the old one (delete nothing and don't uninstall the old version) This allowed me to use the remainder of my old subscription and transfer most of my old settings and password vault, so effectively an update as has happened in previous years ;)

Did arranging this rerun cause yesterdays
giveaway of HippoEdit to be terminated
before the 24 hours were up?

Normally GoTD start at 3am EST and end
at 3am the next morning. HippoEdit was
only available less then 20 hours yesterday.

Is this a mistake caused by arranging for
todays rerun?

No announcement of the shortened time was given.
We need HippoEdit time extended.
